How we checked: Read the product page, the support site FAQ and instructions, and the safety data sheet index on support.getnexgen.com, then downloaded and parsed the safety data sheet itself. A sheet is published and Nexgen hosts it, which corrects an earlier note here saying none could be found and also contradicts at least one review site asserting none exists. Two things about it are worth a reader knowing: it is revision 3, issued 8 May 2015, which predates this product's retail listings by about five years and so cannot be assumed to describe what is in the bottle today; and its supplier details have been amended by placing the current company's name and address over a previous supplier's, which remains underneath in the file. It discloses silicon dioxide as "≤ 14%" with the CAS number withheld as a trade secret, where the marketing states a precise 13%. An upper bound of 14 is consistent with 13 but does not confirm it. No measured performance data is published anywhere we looked: no contact angle, gloss, salt spray or accelerated weathering figures, no ASTM reference, and no technical data sheet, with both technical-data-sheet URLs returning 404. What it does well
- Very forgiving to apply, which makes it hard to get badly wrong

Where it falls short
- The most expensive product here per ounce in its 8 oz bottle, at $4.37 against $1.50 for the cheapest
- States its durability four different ways on a single product page, from 6 weeks to a full year
- Its own safety data sheet is from 2015 and gives silicon dioxide as an upper bound of 14%, so the marketed 13% is not confirmed by it
An easy-to-apply silica spray, and genuinely forgiving for a first-time user, which is its main strength.
The interesting thing about Nexgen is not the product but the paperwork. It is marketed on a single precise number — 13% silicon dioxide, “the most concentrated DIY ceramic coating on the market” — and that precision is what the durability copy conspicuously lacks. The same product page tells a reader the protection lasts six weeks, up to six months, several months, and “for months”, and then recommends reapplying monthly. Their support site adds that it may need reapplying every two weeks in Florida. That is a range from a fortnight to a year for one application of one product.
To their credit, they do publish a safety data sheet, which is more than System X manages, and it is the only place in the category we found component percentages at all. It is also eleven years old, predating this product’s retail listings by about five years, and it gives silicon dioxide as “≤ 14%” with the CAS number withheld — an upper bound consistent with 13% but not confirmation of it.
On price it is the outlier in the direction nobody expects from a product positioned this way: the 8 oz bottle works out to $4.37 an ounce, the most expensive here, though the 16 oz bottle at $2.81 undercuts our own.
