We measure what everyone else asserts

Durability is the most important property of a coating and the one nobody measures. We have seen the same product credited with eight weeks and with nine years by two sources that each claimed to have tested it. So we run the tests ourselves, publish the method, and publish every reading as it is taken.

We manufacture one of the products under test. That is precisely why the method is published in full — so that anyone can repeat it and check us.

Our published tests

What makes a test worth publishing

A control on the same panel. Coating one half of a panel and leaving the other half bare is the only way to separate what the product did from what the weather did. Almost no published comparison in this category has one.

Instruments rather than adjectives. A contact angle in degrees and a gloss reading in gloss units can be checked and repeated. Describing a coating as feeling denser than another cannot.

Stated limitations. Test panels are not cars, one location is one climate, and a single panel per product cannot show variance. Naming those constraints is what separates a test from marketing.

A willingness to lose. If a competitor holds a higher contact angle at month nine than our own product does, the table says so.
