How we checked: Checked the Renew product page on systemx.com, the 2022 and 2024 technical catalogues hosted on the same domain, the UK distributor site, and searched systemx.com and element119.com for a safety data sheet. They publish ASTM B117 salt spray and ASTM D3359 adhesion results for the coating line, which is more than almost anyone else in the consumer category does. Nothing published supports the durability figure, and that figure appears as 6, 6 to 9, 9, and up to 12 months across their own materials, including three of those on a single page. No safety data sheet is hosted by the manufacturer; the copy cited here is a 2020 revision on a European reseller and may not match the current formulation. Assessed July 29, 2026.

What it does well

Where it falls short

A professional-grade clear nano-coating that sits toward the permanent end of the consumer spray category. System X markets it for gloss, hydrophobicity and a hard cured film, and it is the densest-feeling product in our handling of the four.
The interesting paperwork finding is the durability claim: their own product page alone states up to 12 months, 6 to 9 months, and 6 to 12 months, with the 2022 technical catalogue saying up to 6 months. They do publish ASTM salt-spray and adhesion references for the coating line, which is more than almost anyone else here does — they just publish nothing behind the durability number itself.
The trade-off for most buyers is the application. It is unforgiving of technique and will leave high spots if it is not levelled properly, which is why we do not consider it a comfortable do-it-yourself recommendation despite the chemistry. On price it is the dearest here per bottle, but the gap is small — $54.95 for 500 mL against $49.95 for our 17 oz — and anyone expecting a large premium for the professional-grade product should know there is not one.
