How we checked: Fetched the Bead Maker product page. P&S makes no SiO2, ceramic or graphene claim — chemistry is described as polymer. No numeric durability figure. A competitor blog attributes a 2-month claim to P&S; that phrase was not found on psdetailproducts.com and is not recorded as a manufacturer claim. SDS not found on the product page. Documentation audit at brand level remains incomplete for company facts. Assessed August 11, 2026.

Company-level research on P&S Detail Products — who owns it, how it is sold, and every case where its own published figures disagree — is on the P&S Detail Products brand page.

What we measured

Nothing. This product is not in any of our test datasets, so we have no measurements of our own to report on it.

What it does well

  • Honest polymer positioning — not falsely labelled ceramic
  • Sold in pro sizes up to 5 gallons
  • Low pint price

Where it falls short

  • No numeric durability claim
  • Not a silica coating despite how often it is shopped against them
  • SDS not found on the product page

Bead Maker is in this database to stop a category error. It is a polymer paint protectant, not a ceramic coating. P&S does not claim SiO2, ceramic content or graphene on the product page. The chemistry is described as surface-migrating polymer molecules that cross-link into a hydrophobic layer.

People still shop it against ceramic sprays because for the thing most buyers want — water beading after a two-minute wipe — it competes. Filing it under ceramic sprays would repeat the same loose use of “ceramic” that makes durability claims in this category impossible to compare. It lives in the sealant category on purpose.

There is no numeric durability figure on the manufacturer page — only “long lasting.” A two-month figure attributed to P&S by a competing coating brand’s blog does not appear on P&S’s own site and is not recorded here. Cure time is the only hard time figure: about two hours depending on conditions. Pint price on the manufacturer site was $14.28.
