How we checked: Fetched the live HydroCharge+ product page. It carries an expandable Chemical and Ingredient Information section and a Proposition 65 warning naming formaldehyde, but no resolvable safety data sheet URL. No test method or dataset is published. The same page states up to one year of protection and, a short scroll later, positions the product as ideal for weekly or bi-weekly touch-ups. HydroCharge+ is Chemical Guys’ reformulated SiO2 spray coating: $39.99 for 16 oz, spray on, wait roughly thirty seconds, buff off. The page says it protects paint up to one year from UV and fallout, and in another block says up to 12 months while helping extend existing coatings.
About a hundred words later, the same page calls it ideal for weekly or bi-weekly touch-ups. Those statements can be reconciled if you assume the year figure is for a careful standalone job and the fortnightly instruction is for maintenance over an existing coating — but the page never says that. A reader trying to decide how often to buy another bottle is left to invent the product’s own schedule.
Two practical notes. First, this is a reformulation (“Reformulated for ultra fast application”), so older HydroCharge reviews and longevity stories do not describe the bottle currently shipping. Second, the Proposition 65 warning on the page names formaldehyde, and we could not resolve a safety data sheet URL from the product page. There is no published test method behind the durability claim.
