Meguiar’s makes the most conservative durability claim of any brand in this database, which is to say it makes none at all.
Background
Founded in 1901 by Frank Meguiar, Jr., who started with furniture polish. The company stayed family-owned for more than a century and was acquired by 3M in 2008, where it now sits inside the automotive aftermarket division. Headquarters remain in Irvine, California, an address published on their own safety data sheets rather than inferred.
That ownership matters when you read their marketing. A brand inside a publicly traded industrial group has a legal department with opinions about unsubstantiated performance claims, and it shows.
No number, anywhere
The flagship Hybrid Ceramic Wax makes only comparative claims: protection and durability “well beyond conventional wax”, plus extreme water beading. There is no month figure on the US page and none on the European pages either. Because there is no numeric claim, there is nothing for a second Meguiar’s page to contradict — the only brand here where that is true.
Read alongside the rest of this database, that is the finding. Chemical Guys and Shine Armor publish twelve-month claims. Meguiar’s, Griot’s Garage and Mothers publish none. The correlation with company size and legal exposure is hard to miss, and it is a reason to be more rather than less sceptical of the brands quoting years.

The product page links its own safety data sheet and an ingredient list, which puts Meguiar’s in the better half of this category. No test data or methodology is published behind any performance claim.
One caution on our own research: meguiars.com timed out repeatedly for us, so the page text above came through a search index rather than a direct fetch, and the safety data sheet we cite is their Turkish regional copy of the same SKU. Anyone quoting them verbatim should re-open the US page first. We would rather flag that than pretend to a cleaner read than we got.

How we checked: The Hybrid Ceramic Wax product listing carries its own CPSIA safety data sheet and ingredients links, so Meguiar’s does host this documentation. We could not capture the resolved US PDF URL because www.meguiars.com timed out on three separate attempts, so the sheet cited here is the Meguiar’s-hosted copy for the same SKU on their Turkish regional site, which itself states that USA sheets are available at meguiars.com. We found no published test data or methodology behind any performance claim. Assessed August 10, 2026.
