How we checked: Fetched the CMX product page and the CMX FAQ. Mothers publishes no numeric durability figure. The FAQ describes ongoing testing — more than 100 automatic brush washes plus daily ocean salt air on a test car — without a method, schedule or dataset, so durability remains unsubstantiated even though test narrative exists. Mothers-authored SDS files circulate on the SEM Products distribution partner domain rather than in a library on mothers.com; we did not locate an SDS for SKU 01024 specifically. Their FAQ is the most interesting document in the consumer spray set. Asked how long it lasts, Mothers says durability testing is still ongoing, that the product has outlasted all of their tests so far, and that one test car has been through more than a hundred automatic brush washes plus daily ocean salt air with little to no degradation. That is not a method and not a dataset — but it is a brand admitting the answer is unfinished instead of converting an unfinished test into “up to 1 year.”
That last phrase is a correction to the record. Reviewers widely attribute “up to 1 year” to Mothers for CMX. It does not appear on the product page or the FAQ we read. Safety data sheets for Mothers products circulate via their SEM Products distribution partner; we did not find a sheet for SKU 01024 on mothers.com itself.
