A sourcing caveat we are not going to bury

Gtechniq’s website returns HTTP 403 to automated requests at every domain we tried, including with ordinary browser user agents. So while every other brand in this database was read directly, Gtechniq was read through Wayback Machine snapshots captured between December 2024 and February 2026.

Those captures are permanent and anyone can open them, which is why we consider them citable. But they may not describe what Gtechniq publishes today, and nobody should quote the figures below in a comparison without opening the live site in a browser first. We have marked each citation as an archived capture rather than dressing it up as a live read.

Background

A British-founded coating brand with a North American entity, Gtechniq North America Inc., registered in Cumming, Georgia. We could not verify a global legal entity, a founding year or a global headquarters. Note that gtechniq.eu is now a parked domain for sale and is not the brand.

Distribution is split. Crystal Serum Ultra is accredited-detailer only — “The specialist nature of this paint protection means it can only be applied by a Gtechniq Accredited Detailer.” Crystal Serum Light and EXO are sold with consumer prices.

A nine-year guarantee

Crystal Serum Ultra carried a nine-year guarantee requiring registration, and the archived copy is confident about it: if the car is looked after well and washed with Gtechniq shampoos, the coating “will easily reach its 9-year guarantee.”

Nine years is the longest fixed-term figure in this database that is not simply the word “lifetime”. We could not reach a terms page, so what the guarantee covers and what voids it are unknown to us. Given how much every other published warranty here excludes — water spots, scratches, chips, brush washes, missed annual inspections — the terms are the part that would actually tell you what nine years means.

10H, 7H, and a scale that stops at 9H

Their archived copy describes “10h paint protection” and a “hard 10h top and softer 7h base layer” offering better swirl resistance than “regular 9h paint protection coatings.” The FAQ goes further and distances Gtechniq from rivals, referring to “so-called 9h ‘super coatings’”.

The pencil hardness scale ends at 9H. A 10H figure is not a higher result on that scale; it is a number outside it. Gtechniq cites no test standard for either figure, and criticising competitors’ 9H claims while publishing a 10H one is a difficult position to hold.

Where their own figures disagree

Heat resistance is given as up to 250°C on the product page and up to 500°C in the FAQ, for the same coating, on two of their own pages.
